Centennial Taurus[ Written by: Bull Geek ] [ First Posted: January 21, 2007 ] [ Last Modified: February 17, 2010 ]
The 2003 Ford Taurus SEL Premium with the Centennial Edition package was the only publicized special edition made. Ford made 4000 of these models to celebrate Ford's 100th birthday. These cars were outfitted much like any other SEL Premium but the exterior was only available in black. There were three 100th Anniversary badges placed on the exterior: One was placed to the right of the trunk lock and one placed each on the front door above the door molding. The headlamps were "smoked" and the taillamps had a black strip that ran along the edge next to the body. The wheels were much like the 99 Taurus SHO/SE Sport wheels. The interior was the standard Medium Parchment (beige) with a few special touches throughout. The instrument cluster had a satin background and the bezel was cream colored. The leather seats were 100% Imola Leather with the Ford 100th logo embossed on them. The stitching on the leather was darker colored to accent the seats. The headrests and armrests were leather also. The wood-wrapped steering wheel, shifter handle, front door switch bezels, and instrument panel had a burl wood pattern. A power passenger seat was standard. The floor mats were of higher quality, with the Ford 100th logo stitched in.
